A leaf bud technique for rapid propagation of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) Scientia Agricola
Neves,Reizaluamar de Jesus; Souza,Leonardo Silva; Oliveira,Eder Jorge de.
ABSTRACT The slow rate of multiplication is one of the main constraints on the production of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz). This work aimed to evaluate the use of leaf buds for rapid propagation of cassava varieties. Leaf buds were excised from three cassava varieties (BRS Kiriris, 98150-06 and 9624-09) for plantlet generation. The experiment was completely randomized with a 5 (age of mother plant) × 3 (position of the leaf buds on the stems) × 2 (agrochemical treatments) factorial design. Data were collected on leaf sprouting percentage (Spro.Per), plantlet height (Plant.Hei) and total dry mass of plantlets (Dry.Mass.Plant). There was a difference between the three traits for most of the varieties, demonstrating significant effects on the agronomic...

Production and rooting of cordia - Cordia trichotoma (Vell.) Arrab. ex Steud. mini-cuttings collected from ministumps of asexual and seminal origin Ciência Rural
Kielse,Paula; Bisognin,Dilson Antônio; Haygert,Kelen Lencina; Mello,Uilian Stefanello; Pimentel,Nathalia; Raube,Marcelo Artur.
This study aimed to evaluate the production of cordia (Cordia trichotoma) ministumps of seminal and asexual origin, as well as the effect of the naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) on the rooting of mini-cutitings. Seedlings and plantlets from rooted cuttings were pruned to form a clonal mini-hedge. The ministumps were fertirrigated with three concentrations of nutrient solution and they were evaluated for survival and production of mini-cuttings. The mini-cuttings were or not treated with 1000mg L-1 of NAA and planted in substrate for rooting. The mini-cuttings were evaluated for the percentages of survival and rooting, and number and total length of roots after 30 days of cultivation. There was no difference in survival and number of mini-cuttings obtained from...

Rooting of Tineke and Natal Briar rose stem cuttings in different substrates Ciência Rural
Ritter,Giovana; Hojo,Ellen Toews Doll; Villa,Fabíola; Silva,Daniel Fernandes da.
ABSTRACT: The commercial propagation of rose bushes is carried out asexually by the cutting method. The genetic material and the substrate are factors that interfere in the rhizogenic process of the cuttings. Thus, the aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of the substrate on the rooting of cuttings of two hybrid rose bushes. Floriferous branches of matrix plants were cut at the apex and at the base, approximately 8cm long and with two buds, and the basal leaf was removed. The experimental design was completely randomized, in a 2 × 3 factorial scheme (two cultivars, Tineke and Natal Briar × three substrates, carbonized rice husk, coconut fiber and TN Gold®) containing four replicates of 15 cuttings per replicate. The base of the cuttings was immersed...

Vegetative propagation of pequi (souari nut) by cutting Ciência Rural
Guimarães,Ricardo Neves; Souza,Eli Regina Barboza de; Naves,Ronaldo Veloso; Melo,Aniela Pilar Campos de; Rubio Neto,Aurélio.
ABSTRACT: Pequi is propagated mainly by the seminal pathway (seminal route) and presents an uneven and reduced germination. The increasing demand for fruits and seedlings for reforestation indicate the need for new strategies for the propagation of this species which would minimize the negative impact of predatory extractivism on Caryocar brasiliense. The present study aimed to assist the development of a protocol for the cutting of the pequi tree (pequizeiro). Different ages of the matrix plant and levels of foliation and pruning were assessed through the collection (sampling) of cuttings (stakes) from plants in the field. It was noted that cuttings (stakes) from seedlings (young plants) have greater rooting capacity when compared to cuttings derived...
